How We Prepare For Some Fun In The Sun!

The warm weather is here, which means summer is right around the corner and I couldn’t be more excited! It felt like a very long and never-ending winter, so my excitement for the summer is multiplied by 100! I think it’s safe to say that Emily, Jackson, Olivia and Levi are also very thrilled for the warm weather and the chance to go outside without wearing an extra 10 pounds of winter gear.

During the summer, I love to be outside as much as I can. I feel so much better about everything, I’m in a better mood and I also find I eat better in the summer too. The kids love being outside as well and I find that each summer as they get older, it becomes easier to get them outside. Emily is now four and a half and the triplets just turned three, so they are able to play on their own (with adult supervision outside of course) and are much more independent. Whether it’s playing in our backyard or going to the beach on the weekends, Emily playing outside during recess while at school, or our new favourite activity, playing at the park after picking Emily up, we try to get outside as much as we can and the kids always have a great time.

As much as we love being outside enjoying the sunshine, we have to make sure that we are all protected from the sun before throwing on our shoes and running out the door. Making sure Emily and the triplets are protected from the sun is one of the most important things for me to do and it’s been something I’ve focused on since they were born, especially during the summer months. Their skin is so delicate and fair, that I feel like they could easily burn and when the sun is so strong some days, it doesn’t take long for that to happen.

To keep the kids protected from the sun, I always try to make sure they have their hats to wear, I cannot 100% guarantee they will wear them, but I do try as much as I can and I make sure to apply sunscreen before we head out and then reapply throughout our time outside. Up until this summer, I had been using Banana Boat Baby Sunscreen Lotion and I just switched to the New Banana Boat® Simply Protect™ Baby Sunscreen Lotion and the New Banana Boat® Simply Protect™ Kids Sunscreen Lotion. I do use both sunscreens now that Emily and the triplets are a little older and will probably continue to use both throughout the summer.

Picture 1.jpg

When we plan to spend the day outside or even a few hours outside, Dan and I like to divide and conquer when getting everyone ready. Our routine is a pretty simple one, but at times can be a little chaotic just because it’s Dan and I versus four kids. The first step is getting everyone dressed and all of their diapers changed and if there are a couple stinky ones, I try to make sure they head over to Dan ;). The next step is the important one and that’s to apply the sunscreen.

I have really been enjoying the Banana Boat® Simply Protect™ Baby Lotion for Emily and the triplets. The Simply Protect Baby and Kids Sunscreen Lotions are made with 25% fewer ingredients, including oxybenzone and parabens and contains no added oils or fragrances. The new formula is amazing because it’s mild and gentle enough for your baby and young children’s delicate skin and allows us parents to choose a Banana Boat sunscreen formula that works best for our kids and family!

It can be a challenge, to say the least, when trying to apply sunscreen to the kids, especially when they are so eager to get outside, which means we need a sunscreen lotion that goes on smoothly and quickly. The Simply Protect™ Baby Lotion goes on so smoothly and I love that it doesn’t leave a greasy or oily feel afterwards. It’s that oily feeling that can make it seem like you are spending ages rubbing in the sunscreen, but with the Banana Boat® Simply Protect™ Baby Sunscreen Lotion, you don’t experience that. Emily has also found interest in applying her own sunscreen and she also has a bottle at school, which she has to apply on her own, so it’s nice that it’s easy for her to do. The new formula is also tear free and sting free, making it perfect for Emily when she is applying it herself at school!

Picture 2

Once we are sure everyone has their sunscreen on, we put their hats and shoes on and we are then ready to go!

The kids love to spend as much time as possible outside and so do Dan and I. It’s a great way for them to stay active, burn off some energy and it’s much better than spending all day stuck inside. We don’t have air conditioning in our house, so during the summer months it gets really hot inside. An easy and fun way for us to stay cool is to set up our little pool in the backyard and play in the water. It’s so much fun and the kids love it, but staying protected from the sun is so important. When we use Banana Boat® Simply Protect™ Baby Sunscreen Lotion, I know we can spend as much time outside enjoying the sun, but still staying protected!

We would love to hear what some of your favourite outdoor activities are and how your routine goes when getting everyone ready!

Learning Is Fun With Barbie Dreamtopia

As parents we are always trying to find fun ways to teach our kids important life lessons that are entertaining and engaging. When you think of ways to teach your kids those lessons, watching a TV show may not always be your first answer, but what if we told you there was a show that did just that!

Today we are sharing with you a show we were recently introduced to and that is Barbie Dreamtopia! It is a series of mini episodes that take place in a fairytale land called Dreamtopia featuring Barbie and her sister Chelsea. Together they embark on various adventures that are not only fun but demonstrate valuable social and emotional lessons. It is colourful, it is fun, the kids love it and we have been hooked ever since!

barie

One of the episodes that stuck out to us was “Keep On Looking ’til You Find It | Barbie Dreamtopia: The Series | Episode 4.” This episode was all about perseverance and we found it very relatable with Emily and the triplets. Barbie and the Elephant King both lose an important item and Chelsea’s dog Honey goes missing, so together they head out in hopes of finding their missing items and Honey. As their search continues, Chelsea worries that they may not find Honey, but Barbie says they cannot give up and they have to continue searching. They receive some unexpected help from the Glitter Balls, who lead them in the right direction and they are able to find Honey and Barbie and Elephant King’s missing items.

The lesson of perseverance is something I think we can teach Emily and the triplets almost daily. Just like the episode, Emily and the triplets are always losing something. Whether it’s a favourite toy or their sippy cups, someone is always missing something throughout the day. Many times, they simply give up when searching for their missing item or become frustrated that they cannot find it. They then come to Dan and I and want us to find it for them. We try to encourage them to keep looking and tell them it has to be here somewhere, followed by asking them where they last had it, just like Chelsea did when asking the Elephant King where he last wore his crown. As the parent, we pretty much know all the spots where an item could go missing, so we give Emily and the triplets a list of places to look first. About 9 out of 10 times, they end up finding what they were looking for and are so excited when they do.

Perseverance is just one of the many lessons learned from Barbie Dreamtopia and others include patience, team work, inner beauty, and communication. Barbie was such a big part of my childhood and I know it will be the same for our kids. Barbie can also be a very influential character for many kids, so it’s nice to see her influence used to give such valuable lessons and teachable moments.

What’s amazing is that there is also a Learning Through Dreamtopia Activity Guide available for parents to use after each episode. The activity guide provides you with an activity to do with step by step instructions, as well as discussion question. The Dreamtopia activity guide is a great way to interact with your children after an episode and to start a conversation about these lessons. After watching “The Gemonstrator | Barbie Dreamtopia: The Series | Episode 3,” we were excited to try out the activity with Emily, Jackson, Olivia and Levi. The activity was called “Fun With Fruit” and the lesson was inner beauty.

Picture

The instructions for the activity were very clear and easy to follow and the discussion questions were great for relating our activity back to the episode. Emily and the triplets were so excited to see the fruit on the table and they immediately started touching them and asking what they were. I had them try to guess what each fruit was and what they thought the inside would look like. Their reactions when opening up each fruit were priceless and they were all brave enough to try some of the fruit!  Just as Barbie and Chelsea learned that the gems were inside the rocks, Emily, Jackson, Olivia and Levi learned that the inside of the fruits look very different from what they thought they would from the outside. I really enjoyed doing the activity with the kids and it was a creative way for them to interact with the episode from Barbie Dreamtopia!

For those of you looking for a series to watch with your kids, we highly recommend Barbie Dreamtopia and all it has to offer. It is a great way for you to bond with your children and who doesn’t love Barbie!?

You can catch the show weekly on Treehouse airing Saturday and Sunday mornings or catch-all the latest episodes on YouTube. Make sure you also visit the “Learning Through Dreamtopia” website for fun activities to do with your kids.. They will love it!

Advice I would give to myself as a new dad #HappyFathersDay

Dads, you are special. The role you play as a positive male influence in the lives of your children and family is crucial. Teach your children how to be kind, caring and compassionate. Most important, teach your kids how to be happy.

How dad’s stay in shape.

I often think about how time has just passed us by with the kids and us as new parents. We are still new and learning every day, but it seems like yesterday I was holding my first baby for the first time, changing my first diaper, helping with her first feeding. There are so many memorable moments. With one it was very overwhelming; I remember being so nervous handling our daughter Emily. This fragile baby so soft and precious making these little cute noises and cries had my heart RACING! All I thought was; “please do not hurt her”  “Why is her poo so black?” “Am I doing this right?” “Is this as hard as it gets?” “It’s so hot in here.” Question after question and thought after thought judging myself on how I was doing and how would I be able to do it…Could I do it? Luckily we had a great team of medical professionals who worked endlessly by our side to help us transition and educate us on a few things. Not to mention the support from our families and each other as a new parenting duo.

After over four years of parenting and jumping from one child to four, in a matter of 16 months (the birth of our triplets) here is some advice I would give to myself as a new expecting father.

Life is unpredictable and most cases out of our control. As long as we are with the right people we can handle anything. You will never know all the answers, but things will tend to always work out in most cases teaching you a valuable lesson.

Your role as a father is vital to the relationship of you and your children and you need to own it. Every stage; from baby to toddler and beyond, they are always your baby and will always look to you for advice, encouragement and wisdom.

There is no one job for a mom and no one job for a dad… WORK TOGETHER! Build your partner up, motivate and encourage each other.  Develop those core values early. There will always be tough and difficult times but everything always comes down to attitude. One thing I always find are people who tend to ask- how do you it? – Truth is there is no real answer. You just do it. Being a dad and most important being a parent is tough and very difficult. Long nights, long day’s tough lessons.. but the most beautiful and most rewarding thing you can do. So take it in stride and bring your best self to every situation.

Dads, you are special. The role you play as a positive male influence in the lives of your children and family is crucial. Teach your children how to be kind, caring and compassionate. Most important, teach your kids how to be happy.

I commend all of you dads out there for turning your power into love and commitment, to shape and inspire the lives of your children. You are appreciated.

Happy Father’s Day.

Thank you to Pampers for sponsoring this post to celebrate dads everywhere, and with this sponsorship in mind I would like to disclose all thoughts and experiences are my own.

ADVICE TO PARENTS FROM PARENTS

You will receive so much overwhelming advice and information that it may be hard to find what works best for your family.

If you were to ask us three years ago if we were ever going to partner with a brand like Pampers, we would never imagine! However, Pampers has always been our go to diaper choice ever since we found out we were expecting Emily as first time parents and adding that to our baby registry. We have loved Pampers since the very beginning and it has always been such a recognizable brand even before having kids; they were just so relevant all of the time.

When things were taking off on The Baby Gang channel back in 2016, we truly wanted to find an opportunity on how we can work with brands we love and be a go to resource for those who are new to parenting, existing parents or have multiple children like us and our parents. That being said, Pampers was the first company we had ever reached out to as a brand that came top of mind. Just like magic, and something that still blows our minds to this day is the exciting opportunity to partner with Pampers!

After two years we have worked on some very unique and inspiring initiatives with Pampers and one thing we have learned is they are a very innovative brand who always keeps moms, babies and parents top of mind. They do so much for so many communities on a local and global scale and even partnering with The Baby Gang, they have really allowed us to give back to our communities and help those in need when expecting their newborn. They offer such quality and it really shows the effort they put in to making their product, they just care!

You may recall earlier this year one of our previous blog posts on ways that you can save time and money (hyper link to be added to previous Subscribe and Save post). Pampers offers an innovative way for you to stay organized and stocked up on all of your diaper/wipes needs, which is super ideal for those busy parents on the go or those who just can’t seem to get it together…. really any parent. Amazon’s Subscribe and Save service is not only for diapers, but wipes as well. We often forget that we use our baby wipes just as much as the diapers. I know we want to admit that it is just for cleaning a dirty bum, but I think it is safe to say we have all used our wipes for various other purposes. Cleaning our little one’s hands, wiping their faces and hey, maybe washing some crayon marks off the way….guilty! They are just so versatile.

pic3b_preview

The Amazon’s Subscribe and Save really offers great value and convenience for your family. The way it works is very simple. Through Amazon you start by selecting the product you want: Pampers Sensitive Baby Wipes, Pampers Natural Clean Baby Wipes, Pampers Baby Dry, Pampers Swaddlers, Pampers Cruisers, Pampers Easy Ups, Pampers UnderJams, and Pampers Splashers (we use size 4 Baby Dry diapers), then you select the quantity you want, then to finish you choose the frequency of that product. That’s it! On the same day every month, you get a special delivery. Not to mention, shipping is always free, amazing! If you are receiving or storing too many diapers and wipes or maybe not enough you can skip the month, you can always adjust it You are in total control. As moms, as dads, as parents we really like to think we have it all together, but really, we don’t. The Subscribe and Save service through Amazon is a beautiful and convenient service that really makes us feel like we got this!

We have always had such a genuine love for the Pampers brand and want to share that with you. They have been a huge part of our family since the very beginning and have been a key feature in some very special moments, while also becoming a contributing factor in the growth of The Baby Gang. We hope in reading this and sharing our genuine love for Pampers that their quality product and amazing services will help you on your parenting journey.. #1stchoiceofmoms.

I’ve been using Pampers since day one and only partner with brands I truly love, prior to being contacted. The opinions on this blog are my own.

I became a professional voice actor

Back in December of 2017 I had a wonderful opportunity to fly out to California to par-take in some incredible experiences. I had two full days to spend at Dreamworks Animation Studios to get the inside scoop on some pretty incredible projects that were going to be released on Netflix. Last year, Netflix and Dreamworks expanded their partnership with plans to release six animated series in 2018 which included the follow up and continuation to Guillermo del Toro’s award-winning series Troll Hunters.

During my California adventure, we got to learn so much about the first series to be released in 2018 which was Trolls The Beat Goes On! You can also watch season two, which was released March 9th. The show picks up where the film Trolls left off; the series will follow Queen Poppy, her boyfriend Branch, the Snack Pack and the other Trolls, and their Bergen pals, as they experience everyday life in Troll Village.

Hanging with Skylar Astin and Amanda Leighton. Two very down to earth people.

One of my favorite experiences while at Dreamworks, was learning about all of the different roles it would take to make an animated series like this come together. There is just so much work.. That being said, as a group we got to participate in some fun activities. Learning about the animation, the musical production and VOICE ACTING.

The Dream team provided us a clip from the trolls series and then coached us on the process of voice acting and just like that my VOICE ACTING CAREER CAME TO LIFE!

You can watch the studio session and animated session below… I wanted to really jump out of my comfort zone and I played the role of Poppy a sweet delicate and fun girl/troll… WATCH OUT AMANDA LEIGHTON!

They’re Not Cousins, They’re Best Friends!

This week is a very sad week for myself, Emily and the triplets, although I think I am the only one who really understands and knows why it’s sad. This week is the last week that I will be watching Baby Axel 😥

Aunty Gaga, Baby Axel and Uncle Mike will be moving to Calgary, Alberta later on this month 😦

meaxeltriplets.jpg

As many of you know, I have been watching Axel for the last few months after my sister’s maternity leave ended and she went back to work. At times it has been a lot of work, but the amount of fun it has been to have Axel here with Emily and the triplets everyday outweighs any amount of work. If I am being honest, Axel has always been the easiest one to take care of out of the five of them!

axel+triplets

From the day Axel was born, Emily, Jackson, Olivia and Levi have been so in love with him and sometimes a little obsessed. When Jessica would come over and Axel was still in the bucket car seat, they would run over and surround him, trying to be the first to look at him. It was the cutest thing and you could just see the love they had for him.

Photo 2018-02-05, 10 05 08 AM.jpg

Over the last six months, Jackson, Olivia and Levi have spent almost everyday with Axel, Emily included, but she is at school during the day. They have watched him grow and Axel has watched them, even learning from them, including some of their tantrum styles. It has been so fun to watch Axel go from crawling around trying to keep up with everyone, to now running through the house with them. At first Axel had no idea he was part of the game and the monster Jackson and Levi were running away from. Now he gets right into the game and even runs away from the triplets.

I am so happy that Emily, Jackson, Olivia and Levi had the chance to spend so much time with Axel and vice versa. I think it has brought them closer to each other as cousins, but more so, has made them best friends. I have watched them create a bond that I hope will last all of their lives and I hope that they will always think of each other as best friends.

Photo 2018-01-31, 9 30 15 AM.jpg

I don’t know what Emily and the triplets will do when Axel isn’t here everyday. The days Jessica has been off and I’m not watching Axel, they always ask where he is and when he’s coming back again. It’s going to be so sad to know that he won’t be coming over everyday and knowing when the day comes that they move, it will be a little while before they will see each other again.

I have to think that we are lucky because originally I thought I was only going to be watching Axel for 2 months, but instead we had a whole 6 months. Not only has the last 6 months been good for Emily and the triplets to bond with Axel, but it has been great for me. I feel like I have created a bond with Axel too and when he comes over to me and wants to cuddle it is such a great feeling. I think it’s safe to say Axel loves me when he will come and sit on my lap even if Jessica is in the same room =D

We all love Baby Axel so much and it won’t be the same without him here. We will miss you Baby Axel!

Why I love FATHERHOOD

Fatherhood changed my life, my kids are my greatest accomplishment and I want to share why.

Prior to having children, I never imagined my self as a dad…especially a young dad with multiple children including triplets and a toddler. If you had asked me about kids, I would have said that I wasn’t ready and I wanted to wait. Now I hear that phrase and I think to myself, are we ever really “ready” to have children?

blog1

For us there was no plan. My wife and I had been together for 6 years before we had our first child, Emily. I am not saying it was out of the blue – as we had many conversations about having a baby – but it became one of those things where we said that if it happened, it happened…and then it did.

Finding out I was going to be a dad was terrifying! I had just graduated school, I still lived at home with my parents, and I was only 3 years in to working my full time job as a bank teller. Hell, I had never even changed a diaper in my life! Looking back, I had no idea what I was in for. I think what worried me the most probably from portrayals of parenting in movies and on TV was the thought that suddenly your life and freedom come to an end when you have kids (theoretically speaking, of course). I was more worried about all of the judgement from friends and family about our living situation, financial situation, and that fact that we were young parents. I could have not been more wrong.

My family, my wife’s family and our friends were extremely excited and supportive. I remember telling my mom and watching her break down in tears of joy in celebration of our news. I am not saying my dad and stepmom weren’t excited or supportive, because they were.  But after breaking the news to them did not go the way I had expected it to (details aside), they eventually expressed their happiness.

One thing I learned about expecting a baby was that it “manned” me right up! I knew I had to get my priorities in order,  including, among other things, getting prepared for buying my first home with extreme excitement and focus around setting up our nursery.

Photo 2016-07-31, 3 58 27 PM (1)

Despite everything I was worried or concerned about prior to having children, I could not have been more wrong. Fatherhood changed my life in the best possible way and to this day it is the best thing that has ever happened to me. My kids are my greatest accomplishment. I know it sounds cliché, but it is 100% my truth!

Growing up, my brothers and I had been through many unfortunate events that no child or children should ever go through. My mom was a single mother of 4 who struggled with drug and alcohol addiction and my dad was an alcoholic. I suffered abuse and neglect. I have been through foster care where I was separated from my twin brother and my other siblings for over a year. I remember a very dark past. I never had any real guidance on what life had to offer, or ways to get ahead. My first bank account was opened at the age of 8, and I had no education savings like an RESP. When it came to finances and bills, I often learned things the hard way. In hindsight, it really helped me become more responsible, resourceful, and appreciative of everything I had and everything I worked for.

kids

I have shared very little details about difficulties in my past, but with everything I have been through and the struggles and battles people like my mom have experienced, I always vowed that my life and my family’s life would be different. I promised myself that they would never experience difficulty or struggle like the hardship I knew from my childhood. I have used the memory and experience of those struggles as motivation to be the best provider I could be so that my kids would not go through anything close to what I had been through. Despite all of the struggles, my mom and dad are wonderful people. I can remember so many amazing things growing up with my family that would truly warm your heart. We all have our battles, and we all have our way of dealing with things. After being addicted to drugs most of my life, my mom has been clean and sober for over 7 years. She is very present in my life and my kids’ lives as well. She is an amazing grandma!

birthday

One of the truest sayings I have every come across says, “When a baby is born, a dad is born.” I never imagined my life as a father to one baby, let alone to four. Being a father of triplets has me in awe every day. It has been two years since their birth and I am still blown away that my wife and I conceived these 3 babies naturally. The last 3 years as a dad have been the best and most rewarding years of my life so far, and I expect that to continue in leaps and bounds as my kids learn and grow.

dadlife

Fatherhood for me created such a huge spark in my life and has kept me so motivated! I want to be the best influence and as involved as I can possibly be in my children’s lives. My kids represent everything great about me and they are my greatest accomplishment. When I became a dad, I became a million things. I became a doctor, a comedian and even became a superhero! Dads are there to make things better. To heal wounds, to cause laughter and ultimately give advice. I just love learning about my kids and cannot even begin to express how blessed and happy I am to be a father to my children. They have changed my life.

To conclude this blog post, I want to express that fatherhood is amazing! We have such a vital role in our children’s lives and we need to be aware of how important we are and how much we truly mean to our kids. I want to express great wishes and send an honorable fatherly salute to all of you amazing dads out there!

Happy Father’s Day!

Dan.

Finding Time for My Oldest After Having Multiples

One of the biggest challenges I have with 4 kids, is the ability to make sure I am spending enough time with each one of them and making sure my time is divided equally. I know it will never be perfect and I know it will never be 100% equal, but I know how important it is, so I always try my hardest everyday.

babies.jpg

Going from 1 child to 4, was a huge shock and a big adjustment for myself, so I can only imagine how it must have been for Emily. Emily was only 17 months when the triplets were born and as much as we made sure to involve her in everything, it was still a big change to go from being the only child to 1 of 4.

I never want Emily to feel as though I have forgotten about her or I don’t have time to spend with her, so I have come up with a few ideas of things we can do together. I almost always take her to the store with me if I am running out by myself to pick up a few things and when the triplets are napping, I use that time to do an activity such as coloring or even having her sit in the kitchen with me if I have work to do. Just the other day when Olivia, Jackson and Levi were napping, Emily and I spent some time outside on the deck and had some lunch together. I was able to talk to her, listen to her and just be there for her if she needed something or wanted to ask me something. I know there is no need for the activities to be so complicated and I really do think she enjoys the little extra focus just on her.

It will be challenging at times to divide myself between 4 kids and all their needs individually. Finding the extra time during the day to give each one of them a little more attention and focus, will help to make sure I am letting them know I am there. When the triplets were born it was hard because when they needed me, I had to multiply that time by 3. Now that they are older and are capable of playing on their own and not relying on me for everything, I have the time to dedicate to Emily. In a way, I can now make up the time that I couldn’t give to her when the triplets where born!

IMG_1044

If you are subscribed to our YouTube Channel, The Baby Gang, then you would have come across our videos of In The Kitchen with Emily & Mummy. They are fun videos of Emily and I, baking or cooking some fun recipes together and then trying them at the end. Some videos include the triplets, but most of them are just of Emily and I.

I love to cook and bake and I am so excited to teach Emily some of the basic skills and techniques and of course the triplets, when they are old enough. Making the videos of us cooking or baking in the kitchen has been so much fun and Emily has really started to enjoy them. In our latest episode, we made chocolate chip cookies and I thought it was so cute to see Emily picking up on the way I say things or introducing ourselves. At some parts it may have been unclear as to what she was saying, but I know she was explaining the steps of making the cookies and it was just too adorable!

The recipes we chose are not complicated and only take a couple of minutes to throw together and I think that helps to keep the focus on the fun, which is what they are all about. It has taken me a little bit to get over the fact that the video may not go exactly how I imagined or planned, but even after the extra mess and extra time, everything has turned out great.

Baking or cooking is such a great hands on activity to do and allows Emily to learn while having fun. I think it is important to teach basic cooking skills and I find it keeps Emily engaged and eager to do more, as I am sure it would with every child! Not only does it help with learning to cook, but even with her vocabulary, learning new words and new foods and also being able to give directions when telling each step in the recipe. pb3

Sometimes it is a little bit of a challenge to find the time to set everything up and make the video, especially during the day when I am home alone. We have to wait for Jackson, Olivia and Levi to fall asleep and even then we only have a limited amount of time to record. The other option we have is to set up the chairs and have all three join us for the video! It is fun to have them included as well and I like to think Jackson, Olivia and Levi enjoy having a snack and watching us cook. It will be interesting to see how the videos will go when all 3 are old enough and ready to join in on the cooking!

pb8.jpg

When we started In The Kitchen with Emily & Mummy, we were wearing our matching Christmas aprons. I had actually found them before we started the videos and they worked perfectly, but we needed an upgrade. Last weekend when we were in Buffalo, we were walking through Macy’s and in the corner of my eye I spotted an apron that said “mama” on it and as I was looking at them, I found a matching one that said “bebe.” They were so cute and exactly what I was looking for and on top of that they were on sale! Now we have some new aprons to wear and they add that much more excitement to each episode!

At the end of the day, the main purpose of In The Kitchen with Emily & Mummy, is to have fun and spend some quality one on one time with Emily. Even if we decided not to record the videos, we would still be cooking together and having fun!

I encourage everyone to try baking or cooking with your kids. If you have multiple kids who are ready to get in the kitchen and start baking, set up a day every few weeks for each child to join you, that way you can include everyone in the fun, but still have the one on one time with each of them! And if you only have one child who is ready, but have little ones who aren’t, set up their high chairs, set out some snacks or toys and have them watch what is going on!

Our first family science experiment!

We took advantage of a nice cold day to conduct our first ever Baby Gang science experiment!

With 4 young children who take up just about every minute of our time, we are a family who loves fun and adventure. What makes that special is doing it together, as a family. That is what family is all about.

Watching the kids grow has both Corrie and myself in such amazement to see how a developing mind works. Their curious little minds like little sponges absorbing all types of information makes me wonder how they see the world around them and what they are thinking about!

Recently on a cold day we took advantage to come up with a fun science experiment with the kids. It was -12 degrees Celsius (not including the windchill) and we wondered if water could evaporate in this freezing cold water. It had the kids super excited!

Makes for a great parenting win!  Watch below 🙂

Be on the look out for more fun with the kids!
